Here’s How It Works

1. Site Assessment

We visit and check every surface. We note the surface type, existing coating condition, render quality, and any biological growth. We identify structural repairs needed before painting starts.

2. Surface Preparation

We clean moss, algae, and loose material. Render is repaired where needed. Timber is stripped to sound material. Biological growth is treated and allowed to dwell before rinsing.

3. Priming

Bare timber gets a specialist timber primer. Masonry and render get the right primer for the surface. The primer determines how long the finish holds. Getting this wrong shortens the life of the job significantly.

4. Paint Application

Exterior paint needs a dry window of at least 48 hours to cure. We monitor North Devon weather forecasts and plan application phases carefully. Two finish coats are standard. High-exposure coastal surfaces get a third.

5. Inspection and Touch-Up

Once the final coat has cured, we inspect all surfaces in good light. Touch-ups are done before we leave. We walk through the finished work with you before closing the job.
